Recovery methodology
Local check, authoritative server verification
The browser checks format signatures and visible encryption metadata. Some containers cannot be classified locally, so an unknown result is sent for server verification rather than treated as unencrypted or guaranteed recoverable.
Password recovery and file unlock
A recovered original password and an unlocked copy of a file are different products. The status page distinguishes them. Technical keys and incomplete work are not proof that the original password has been recovered.
Progress and limitations
Progress comes from the recovery service. Where no measured percentage is available we show an indeterminate activity indicator, not an invented countdown. A technical interruption is not the same as a completed search with no match.
